As a business analyst in our Pittsburgh office, you’ll work with our amazing customers to ensure project business direction, high-level scope, and dependencies are identified and documented, then provide award-winning post-project support.

Business Analyst Position Overview

The Business Analyst ensures that our solutions create business value for our customers. A successful Business Analyst will have experience and strong skills in governing project scope and maintaining project documentation. In addition, he or she will become the functional subject matter expert for all products, components, and features within his or her domain. He or she will guide project initiatives and enhancement requests by facilitating collaboration between the customer and development team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working as part of a team along with developers, project managers, QA engineers, customers, and others to ensure the development and delivery of high quality software
  • Identifying and documenting business direction, high-level scope, and dependencies for each project
    Coordinating with the team members and customers to capture requirements
  • Analyzing requirements to ensure accuracy, detail, coverage, and traceability from business need to solution
  • Thinking critically about complex problems to offer impactful solutions that meet the business need
  • Authoring clear and concise documentation that effectively communicates to both a business and technical audience
  • Creating user interface mockups and associated behavioral rules to define navigation, validation, data relationships and trigger events
  • Presenting specifications or prototypes to team members for review/acceptance and compliance with requirements

Technical Skills and Qualifications

  • A minimum of three years? experience in the software development field with responsibilities that include analyzing and documenting requirements, user stories, and process flows
  • Experience developing requirements using both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of MVC architecture and Service-oriented architecture (SOA)
  • A thorough understanding of how to use technology to improve processes and systems
  • A Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
  • Expertise with MS Office tools including Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPoint
  • A basic understanding of SQL
  • Consulting experience a plus
